Fadely

Ross Fadely is NYU's newest employee; I spent an otherwise very low-research day chatting with him (and also Fergus) about all the things we could work on together. We went into particular detail on imaging and models of images, on radio astronomy and the issues with CLEAN, and on optimization and other engineering challenges. Fergus pitched a no-knowledge purely data-driven model for the SDSS data. It is insane but could be useful and definitely fun. The use cases we came up with include patching missing or corrupted data and identification of astrophysically interesting outliers and anomalies. With Fadely at NYU, the future is bright!
