mixing sandbox

The most fun point in my research day today was a conversation with Suroor Gandhi (NYU) about making a sandbox for testing or developing intuitions about mixing in the disk. The idea is to put stars of different kinds (think chemical abundances or tags of some kind) localized in phase space, and see how the kinds mix in orbit space to illuminate tori (or equivalents). We started down this path because the mixing isn't totally intuitive, and it isn't clear always how long it will take.
